The stained-glass window in the Sint-Janskerk in Gouda depicting: Freedom of Conscience triumphs over Tyranny. On a war chariot sit the Dutch government in the guise of Minerva and Freedom of Conscience. They ride over Tyranny. The chariot is drawn by the personifications of Constancy, Love, Unity, Justice, and Truth. The scene is surrounded by the coats of arms of cities in the Southern Quarter of the States of Holland. These cities were the donors of the stained-glass window to the city of Gouda. At the bottom, a cartouche with a ten-line text in Dutch. Stained-glass window by glazier Adriaan Gerritsz. de Vrije after a design by Wtewael from 1595–1596 and installed in 1597.
