Ferdinand of Austria on horseback as army commander leads his troops over the Alps, July 1634. Scene top right on the front of the triumphal arch Arcus Fernandi on the Vrijdagmarkt. Plate no. 8 in a set of 42 plates illustrating the publication describing the entry of Cardinal Infant Ferdinand of Austria into Ghent on January 28, 1635, as the new Governor-General of the Spanish Netherlands.
