About this work

Allegorical memorial for Willem George Frederik, Prince of Orange-Nassau, died in Padua, 6 January 1799. By a monument overshadowed by a weeping willow stands a mourning putto with a extinguished torch. Another putto holds a helmet and the third sits by the portrait. On the ground in front of the monument, armor and banners, in the background a cavalry battle.
