The camp of the Dutch on the island of Mauritius, 1598. The crew is engaged in fishing, cooperage, smithing, shipbuilding. On the right, preacher Philips Pietersen van Delft is giving a sermon. On the right, native animals and plants including turtles and a dodo. Copy after the original illustration in the travel report of the Second Voyage to the East Indies under Jacob Cornelisz. van Nes and Wijbrant van Warwyck in 1598-1600. Numbered: 1.
