About this work
An autumn landscape. In the sky the astrological sign of September: Libra. Christ telling the parable of the fig tree to his disciples (Luke 13). In the background the gathering of the fruit harvest. Bottom left a farmer commands his servant to chop down a fruit tree without fruit. The print bears a Latin inscription and is part of a series depicting the life of Christ in the twelve months of the year.
