About this work
A winter landscape. In the sky the astrological sign of November: Sagittarius. In the foreground the depiction of the parable of the wedding feast. A king sends out messengers to invite everyone to a great feast for the marriage of his son. In the background the city is on fire from earlier guests who refused to come. The king therefore sent troops to besiege the city and burn it down (Matt. 22). The print bears a Latin inscription and is part of a series depicting the life of Christ in the twelve months of the year.
