About this work
An autumn landscape. In the sky the astrological sign of October: Scorpio. In the left corner Christ telling his disciples the parable of the tenants of the vineyard. In the background the grape harvest and the depiction of the parable. In the vineyard one of the owner's servants is stoned by the tenants. In the foreground the owner's son is murdered by one of the tenants (Matt. 21). The print bears a Latin inscription and is part of a series depicting the life of Christ in the twelve months of the year.
