About this work

Saint Francis of Assisi receives the stigmata. Francis kneels with both arms outstretched, with wounds in his palms. To his right lie his sandals and a skull. The crucified Christ appears before him as a seraph, with three pairs of wings, with cherubim in the air beside him. In the foreground sits Brother Leo, Francis's companion. This print is part of an album.
