About this work

Signs of joy for the town hall, on the occasion of the entry of Stadtholder-King William III in The Hague, 5 February 1691. Evening scene with on the left a scaffold with burning torches, in the foreground soldiers firing salutes watched by visitors on the steps of the town hall. On the facade of the town hall illuminated portraits of William and Mary and emblems.
