About this work
Victory of the Allies over the French and Spaniards in the year 1702. Central scene: the Roman King Joseph I and the Margrave of Baden on horseback, accompanied by their commanders. They are surrounded by various war scenes and besieged places, including Landau, Vigo, Venlo, Liège, and Roermond. In the clouds, Fame, angels, the Dutch Lion, and the German Eagle. At the bottom, the fireworks were set off by order of the States-General and the States of Holland and West Friesland at the Hofvijver in The Hague on 13 December 1702. All inscriptions are in Dutch and French.
