About this work

Allegory on the labyrinth of human folly, ca. 1650. Staircase-shaped structure with five steps on which loving couples represent the five senses. In the middle the globe, on which a labyrinth is depicted. Above it a cross with a fool's cap, on the right and left Democritus and Heraclites. In the caption 5 verses of 8 lines.
