About this work

Allegorical pillar-shaped monument for Hendrik Danielsz. Hooft, former mayor of Amsterdam, died on 31 August 1794. The body of Hooft supported by an allegorical female figure. At the foot of the pillar mourning citizens and two children with a portrait of the deceased. On the pillar a six-line epitaph.
