The naval battle at Terheide in the First Anglo-Dutch War between the States fleet under Maarten Tromp and the English fleet under George Monck, 10 August 1653. At the top a portrait of M.H. Tromp in a laurel wreath, with the inscription Praelium navale inter Belgos et Anglos, Ao 1653 on both sides. Next to the portrait cherubs. Maarten Tromp fell during this battle. In the foreground the sinking English ship the Pellicaen. On the left the ship the Brederode of Tromp in fierce combat with that of Monck. In the distance the Dutch coast from Scheveningen to Den Helder. In the caption the legends a-r and 1-18 and a verse in two columns in Dutch.
