About this work

Christ, naked except for a loincloth and sitting, is bound with ropes by two soldiers. A third soldier is about to punch Christ in the face. A fourth soldier pushes the crown of thorns onto Christ's head with two sticks. In the foreground lie thorns. In the margin a five-line inscription in Latin. Print from a series of fifteen with the Passion of Christ.
