About this work
Illustration of the events known as the cruelty of the bull, 1647. The farmer and his pregnant wife who were attacked by a bull on August 29, 1647, in Zaandam. This small print shows how the woman is taken onto the horns, with the child being thrown from her womb. Below the image, in five columns, a description of the events.
