About this work

Standing Keeshond (Patriot) holding his musket at an angle, up which a French rooster (Dumouriez) climbs and places spectacles on the Keeshond's nose. On the ground lie four proclamations: 'Alliance with France', 'Delft Declaration', 'List of French Auxiliary Troops at Gevet', and 'Defense of the City of Utrecht by the Rhine-Count Salm'. Below the print, a twelve-line verse.
