The Prince's Fleet in the Harbor of Hellevoetsluis, 1688

The fleet is being prepared in the harbour of Hellevoetsluis for the journey of Prince Willem III with his army to England, 28 October 1688. A panoramic view of the fleet of Stadtholder Willem III, with an explanation in a frame at the bottom (where also the title), a half palm tree on the left and right and a crowned shield with trumpet angels above. The fleet appears largely ready at sea, but some ships are still being loaded with cannons lying on the quay. In the front left lies a ship marked (with a C) as the ship of 'His Highness in which were Mr van Odijck and Marshal Schombergh'. The latter we find on the right at the quay (marked with a B) where he inspects the fleet in the company of 'Count Charles his son and Mr dela Caillemotte Son of the Marquis de Ruvignij'. Palm trees on the left and right, in the sky angels with the Prince's coat of arms.
