The fleet of the Prince in the harbour of Hellevoetsluis, 1688

The fleet is being prepared in the harbour of Hellevoetsluis for the voyage of Prince William III with his army to England, 28 October 1688. A panorama of the fleet of Stadtholder William III, with an explanation in a frame at the bottom (where also the title), left and right a half palm tree and a crowned shield with trumpet angels above. The fleet seems largely ready at sea, but some ships are still being loaded with cannons lying ready on the quay. In front lies the ship of 'His Highness in which were Mr van Odijck and Marshal Schombergh'. On the quay the prince views the fleet in the company of 'Count Charles his son and Mr dela Caillemotte Son of the Marquis de Ruvignij'.
