About this work

From left to right: After a heavy storm a woman lies buried under the rubble of her house. Catherine saves the woman.; Catherine visits the body of the holy Agnes of Montepulciano that is laid out in a chapel. She bends forward to kiss the feet of Agnes and the foot comes up by itself.; Catherine witnesses the torture of two prisoners on a marketplace. The men are branded with glowing tongs. Catherine prays to Christ for forgiveness for the sinners. In the margin an explanation of the representations in Latin. Eighth print from a series of twelve with the Life and Miracles of Saint Catherine of Siena.
