About this work

From left to right: Catherine collapses in the arms of two sisters after she has received the stigmata of Christ. From the body of Christ on a crucifix lines run to the wounds of Catherine.; A possessed woman lies writhing on the floor. Her husband tries to keep her under control. Catherine frees the woman from her demons with a blessing gesture.; Pope Gregory XI returns with his retinue to the papal court in Italy and meets on the way the Saint Catherine and another Dominican nun. In the margin an explanation of the representations in Latin. Ninth print from a series of twelve with the Life and Miracles of Saint Catherine of Siena.
