About this work

Capture of Diest by the States' army under the Spanish captain Alonso Vanegas, 9 June 1580. The city gate towards Zichem is opened so that the States' horsemen can enter; on the right soldiers climb the city walls with ladders. With an inscription of 12 lines in German and 2 lines in French. Numbered: 36. Incorrectly stated on the print that the city of Diest was taken by the French in May 1580.
