About this work

Tree of Heresy. A tree springs from the body of the devil lying on the ground. On the branches of the tree are the names of the many heretical sects that arose within the Catholic Church before the Reformation. At the top left the Pope and on the right Mohammed. With an ornamental border. All inscriptions in Latin. Satirical print on the Roman Catholic Church, ca. 1560.
