Siege and capture of Naarden by the Prince of Orange, September 12, 1673. In the foreground scenes from soldier life in the army camp. In the center the mayor of Naarden kneels before the prince surrounded by his staff of officers. In the distance the siege and assault of the city. At the top on a hanging cloth a map of the city and the positions of the besiegers, next to it a poem 'On the Siege of Naarden' in six lines. With multiple inscriptions in the image.
