About this work

Reception of the Princess of Orange as Queen of England in Margate, 22 February 1689. Off the coast, the English ships with which the princess made the crossing fire salutes. On land, she and her court are welcomed by representatives of Parliament. To the left, the Margate inn. In the sky, the queen's coat of arms carried by allegorical figures. A text sheet pasted below the print describes the events and explains the numbers 1-23 in three columns in Dutch, French, and English.
