About this work

The Battle of Nieuwpoort, 2 July 1600. Large representation on two sheets of the battle, the fighting on the beach and in the dunes between the States Army under Maurice and the Spanish troops under Albert. At the top, lions with the arms of the States-General and Maurice and the dedication. At the bottom, cartouches with a verse by Hugo Grotius and the privilege. The right cartouche decorated with captured Spanish flags.
