About this work
The States and Spanish armies facing each other on the beach at Nieuwpoort, the beginning of the Battle of Nieuwpoort, 2 July 1600. Large representation on three sheets, left the States Army under Maurice, right the Spanish troops under Albert, in the middle a narrow connecting sheet with two verses, here the Dutch Lion facing an Austrian eagle. At the top left and right, cartouches with inscriptions of 2 lines in Latin. At the bottom, a separately printed time verse is pasted on.
