About this work

Satirical print in which all kinds of different foolish persons in the town of Waert (Weert in Limburg?) march to battle against (the imaginary danger of) a dead ray. In the center the firing of a cannon and from the left farmers armed with spears, above a priest with an aspergillum, on the right in the background a windmill, on the left women ringing the bells. With inscriptions in Dutch in the depiction, at the top mention of the places Molevaart and Tongerlo.
