The destruction of the Spanish galleys in the Channel off the Flemish coast by the States fleet under Vice-Admiral Jacob van Duivenvoorde, Lord of Obdam, 3 October 1602. Large composition consisting of three sheets. Left sheet: the beginning of the attack on the Spanish galleys. Bottom right: the destruction of a galley off the coast near Calais. Bottom left: a cartouche decorated with sea creatures and the virtues Faith, Hope and Charity, with the dedication in Latin and the arms of the States-General and Maurice. With a two-column caption in Latin.
