About this work

The destruction of the Spanish galleys in the Channel off the Flemish coast by the States fleet under Vice-Admiral Jacob van Duivenvoorde, Lord of Obdam, 3 October 1602. Large composition consisting of three sheets. Center sheet: several galleys are being attacked, the crew is jumping overboard; at the bottom, the Flemish coast near the cities of Grevelingen, Dunkirk and Nieuwpoort. With a four-column caption in Latin.
