About this work
Large depiction on two sheets of the naval battle off the coast of Sluis where the eight Spanish galleys under Federico Spinola (who died in this naval battle) are defeated by the States' fleet of three ships and two galleys under Joos de Moor, 26 May 1603. At the top an inscription of one line, with a subtitle of 6 verses of 2 lines in Latin. Bottom right a cartouche with the dedication in Latin. On this copy, inscriptions in French have been added by hand.
