About this work

The naval battle off the coast of Sluis in which the eight Spanish galleys under Federico Spinola (who died in this battle) are defeated by the States fleet of three ships and two galleys under Joos de Moor, 26 May 1603. In the distance above, the coast of the Western Scheldt with the towns of Breskens, Schoondijke, Oostburg, Sluis, Knokke, and Damme. Printed separately below the print are the legends of the ships of the States fleet A-F and the enemy galleys 1-4, in Dutch.
