The Battle of the Downs between the Spanish fleet under the command of Antonio de Oquendo and the States fleet under Maarten Harpertsz. Tromp, 21 October 1639. In the foreground a burning ship and boats with crew members, right the captured Spanish ships. In the background the English coast between Walmer and Margate. Without title or subtitle.
