About this work
Naval battle between Dutch and Spanish ships in the Channel off the English coast near Dover, 12-13 June 1605. On the left the English coast with Dover and in the distance London, on the right the French coast with Calais and in the distance Vlissingen. The Dutch fleet under Lieutenant-Admiral Willem de Zoete, Lord of Haultain, intercepts a Spanish troop transport to Flanders in English and German ships, sinks some of these ships, and pursues others into English territorial waters, within range of the artillery in the English castle at Dover. With caption of 3 columns in German.
