About this work
The Arminian Cap. Satirical print on the conversion of Petrus Bertius, Remonstrant professor at the University of Leiden, to the Roman faith, 20 June 1620. Bertius kneeling receives a fool's cap from a jester and a monk with donkey ears. On the left a peddler with books and prints, on the right Bertius receives the sacrament from a priest. Below the image a long verse in three columns with a dialogue between two peasants.
