A soldier, full-length, holding a spear (pike) horizontally at shoulder height with both hands, his right hand near the butt of the weapon. This is the third movement for lowering the pike to pass under an overhang. Printed on the reverse with text in French. Free copy after plate 14 in the instructions for handling the pike in the Wapenhandelinghe by J. de Gheyn. Military affairs around 1600.
