About this work
Two medals on events in Amsterdam in 1650, on the front and back of a sheet. Medal on front: obverse: boats with soldiers on the Amstel, hands with arrows, banner and palm branch emerging from the clouds. Reverse: Peace standing with banner on weapons. Medal on back: obverse: view of Amsterdam and ships on the Amstel, above it a hand from the clouds with heart and coat of arms of the city with pennant with inscription. Reverse: the removal of six members of the States of Holland to Loevestein Castle and a skull with a dove holding a palm branch in its beak. Cut-out illustration printed with text on the reverse.
