About this work

Fight between a Dutch fisherman from Vlieland named Jonge Kees and an English fisherman on 9 August 1652. The fight between the crews of the two fishing boats with the English vessel in the foreground being overwhelmed by the Dutch. Top right a portrait of Jonge Kees with the medal awarded to him by the Admiralty.
