About this work

Plate with two depictions. Top a landscape depiction of the Raid on Chatham and the destruction of the English fleet on 20 June 1667 by the States fleet under Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter. Bottom a depiction of the capture of the island of Sheppey with the fort and magazine at Sheerness by the troops of Colonel Dolman. In the caption the legends for both plates 1-42 and a-o in Dutch and the German title and legend 1-42, continued on the left side. The plate is accompanied by a text sheet with German text.
