About this work

Peace of Breda, 31 July 1667, which brought an end to the Second Anglo-Dutch War. Central representation of the swearing-in of the peace treaty, surrounded by nine smaller representations of naval battles and events from the war, the Great Fire of London, and the proclamation and celebration of the peace at Breda on 24 August 1667. At the bottom, titles in Dutch and English with legend A-K in English. Under each of the eight smaller scenes on the sides and bottom, a two-line caption in Dutch.
