About this work

Peace of Breda, 31 July 1667, which put an end to the Second Anglo-Dutch War. Central scene of the swearing of the peace treaty, surrounded by nine smaller scenes of the events preceding and following the ceremony. Above the arrival of the English ambassadors at Breda. On the sides festivities celebrating the peace. At the bottom the title in Dutch and English with legend A-K in English. Below the eight smaller scenes on the sides a caption of two lines in Dutch.
