About this work

The signing of the peace treaty between France and the German Emperor in the town hall of Nijmegen, at ten o'clock in the evening on 5 February 1679. Interior with a group of men standing around a table by candlelight. Among the negotiators are mentioned: Count Strattmann, Marquis de Croissy (Colbert), Comte d'Estrades, the Bishop of Gurk, Count Kinsky, and the empty chair of the Comte d'Avaux. In the margin, the legend 1-5.
