About this work
Map of the town of Namur with the castle, besieged by the French army, 25 May – 30 June 1692. Above the cartouche, the offering of the town's surrender to the French commander. Below, advancing cavalry. Part of the third volume (1695) of the print series comprising the eight volumes of *Les forces de l'Europe*, published between 1693–1697. The series consists of 175 plates with plans (by Sébastien Le Prestre, Seigneur de Vauban) of famous fortified cities and strongholds during the Nine Years' War. Title and inscriptions in French.
