Jansenism Weighed Against the Jesuit, 1705

On a scale in the hand of God the book of Jansenius, the Bible and the Dutch lion are weighed against a Jesuit with missal and the symbols of the Pope. Although a friar hangs on the scale, it tips over to the side of Jansenism. Here Petrus Codde stands as Archbishop of Utrecht.
