About this work

Interior scene with four gentlemen: the Duke of Marlborough, Mr. van Ouwerkerk, the Duke of Villeroy, and the Elector of Bavaria, playing tric-trac for the city of Mons (Bergen), 1709. In the background, King Philip V with a woman in the bedroom. Below the print, a verse in one column in Dutch. The print refers to the siege and capture of Mons by the Allies from the French in 1709.
