About this work
Upper half of a large map of the Battle of Höchstädt (Battle of Blenheim) on 13 August 1704, where the Allies under the Duke of Marlborough and the Prince of Savoy achieved a victory over the French and Bavarian troops. In the upper left, an allegorical vignette with Mars freeing himself from his chains, with the portrait of Marlborough. In the upper right, a cartouche with a list of the Allied armies, decorated with allegorical figures of Victory, Father Time, the Dutch Lion, and the British Unicorn.
