About this work

The fifth sleigh in the procession. A sleigh with Louis de Boisot and a boy with white bread and a herring, drawn by a horse and preceded by two musicians and two halberdiers. Part of a series of twelve plates of the sleigh procession on 24 January 1776 organised by the Leiden society Veniam Pro Laude on the occasion of the Second Centenary of the Relief of Leiden (3 October 1574) and the Foundation of the University of Leiden (8 February 1575).
