About this work

Satirical print on Kaat Mossel, the Leiden baker Adriaan Trago, and preacher Petrus Hofstede following the publication of the Orangist Na-Courant in Rotterdam, 1784. On the left, Hofstede with a jester's cap and monkey riding a donkey with a flag to which a hare is attached. On the right, Kaat Mossel next to an overturned bucket of mussels, Trago blows on his baker's horn. In the background, a gallows with five ropes. In the caption, a ten-line poem.
