About this work
Allegory with on a pedestal a representation of the capture of Kattenburg from the rebellious Orangists by the armed Amsterdam citizens on 30 May 1787. On the monument, a portrait of Colonel Abraham Valentijn, who led this action, with genii, Fame, and two soldiers on guard.
