About this work
Allegorical monument to the Amsterdam mayor Hendrik Danielsz. Hooft, commemorating his defense of the patriotic interests in the council on 26 February 1787. Portrait medallion on a pedestal, crowned with a wreath by Liberty, flanked on the left by three putti with oak leaves around the coat of arms of Hooft. At the top, the All-Seeing Eye radiating light.
