About this work
Allegorical monument on the death of Pieter Paulus on 17 March 1796. He was the first chairman of the First National Assembly, opened in The Hague on 1 March 1796. Open semi-circle with centrally an obelisk with a portrait of Paulus, with mourning children and women. On the right in the background the Binnenhof where the Assembly took place.
